Elwin James Dewing passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the age of 96 at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay.
Al is survived by his beloved wife Marilyn, his loving children Merlin and his wife Roxanne, George and his wife Liz, David and his wife Kimberley and Kelly and Jodi Thornley, his son-in-law Roger Marrotte, his dearly loved grandchildren Lorrie and her husband Darryl, Lisa, Stacy, Julia and her partner Brendan, Kim and her husband John, Kyle, Jordan, Jesse, Justine and Tre and his adored great grandchildren Samantha, Cassandra, Preston, Zoe, Hannah, Avery, Sky and Aria. Al is predeceased by his parents Reginald and Marion, his first wife Violet, his daughters Hope Ainsworth and Debra Marrotte.
Corporal Elwin J. Dewing of the Canadian Armed Forces army Division was ready to leave for the front in 1945 when ceasefire was declared, ending WWII.
Elwin enjoyed Golfing, Reading, Camping, Winter's in Florida and of course the Legion. In accordance with Al's wishes a private cremation has taken place.
